About this lesson
I'm Nalina (nickname Ploy) - a native Thai speaker with dual Thai-American citizenship. I grew up in Bangkok, went to high school and university in the US, earned my Master's in TESOL in England, and studied Italian in Italy. I've spent my career teaching languages across cultures, so I understand firsthand what it's like to learn a new language in a new country.
I've taught at Chulalongkorn, Thammasat, Mahidol, Silpakorn, and Stamford International University, as well as AUA Bangkok. I've been a guest lecturer at the Thai Air War College, Army War College, and Naval War College. I know how to break down language for non-native speakers because that's literally what my Master's degree is in.
I teach conversational Thai tailored to what you actually need — whether that's for your job, daily life, ordering food, navigating Bangkok, or building real relationships with Thai people. I'm patient, I speak fluent English, and I can explain Thai grammar and usage in a way that makes sense to a Western learner.
